Nintendo has announced numerous games for the Switch in a new Direct. Find out what’s new on Zelda, Splatoon 3 and Mario here.
What games were announced in Nintendo Direct?
The time has come. Nintendo reveals its plans and shows which games fans can look forward to Super Smash Bros: Ultimate gets a new fighter in March. They are Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. During the brawls, you can switch between the two fluently to give yourself an advantage.
In June 2021, a new “Super Mario” game will also appear. Mario Golf Super Rush will not only let you golf in a relaxed way, but also offers a fast multiplayer mode in which you have to chase the ball with the help of various skills. Even Animal Crossing: New Horizons gets late February Mario content with which you your island with items from the Mushroom Kingdom decorating can.
Zelda fans do not go away empty-handed either. However, her greatest dream remains unfulfilled again. There is no new information about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. However, Eiji Aonuma, the producer of the series, assures that development is going smoothly. In the course of the year they want to reveal more.
Which Zelda classic is coming to the Switch?
Instead, a Zelda classic on the Wii gets an HD remaster. Zelda: Skyward Sword is slated to hit the Switch on July 16. The motion control of the Wii controller was transferred to the Joy-Cons. Alternatively, the game can now be controlled with just buttons. Additionally, Hyrule Warriors: Time of Desolation will receive an Expansion Pass. New fighters, enemies and weapons will be added in two DLCs in June and November.

Splatoon 3 is slated for release in 2022
The big new announcement from Nintendo Direct is Splatoon 3. Even if the shooter is not due to appear until 2022, the short announcement trailer already shows exactly the colorful and fast battles for which the series is known.
In addition to the big announcements, a few smaller games were also revealed. Project Triangle Strategy is developed by Square Enix and offers a tactical combat system reminiscent of Fire Emblem. The release is not planned until 2022. A demo is already available now.
With Star Wars Hunters, a new game has been announced in a galaxy far, far away. The competitive free-to-play shooter is slated for the Nintendo Switch in 2021.
