Huawei has announced that in a few weeks the presentation of the Huawei Mate X2 will take place. We tell you when the coming-out is going to be celebrated and everything we know about Huawei’s new folding mobile.
Huawei renews its commitment to folding mobile phones with a new terminal that is on the way: the Huawei Mate X2. The device is the successor to the Huawei Mate X, the first smartphone with a flexible screen that the brand presented at the MWC in 2019, and the Huawei Mate Xs, a version with a design very similar to the original but optimized with some improvements, such as a greater resistance, a more powerful processor, more autonomy and better cameras.
After weeks of rumors, now Huawei has announced the official presentation date of the Huawei Mate X2. The event will take place on February 22 at a time to be determined.
Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei, has also made the announcement through the Chinese social network Weibo. Unlike the international Twitter account, which uses a poster in which the folding mobile cannot be seen, the manager has accompanied his publication with an image in which we see a part of the Huawei Mate X2.
It is a very revealing image, as it confirms one of the rumors that we have been hearing in recent months. As you can see below in the photograph, the screen of the Huawei Mate X2 will fold inwards instead of outwards, as its predecessors do. Therefore, Huawei’s new folding mobile will abandon its differentiating feature to get closer to the design of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2.
Features of Huawei Mate X2
Beyond its design, a few weeks ago the specifications of the Huawei Mate X2 appeared leaked. According to the report by the popular Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station, Huawei’s new folding mobile will feature an 8.01-inch main screen with a resolution of 2,480 x 2,200 pixels , along with a 6.45-inch secondary panel with resolution 2,700 x 1,160 pixels. Under the hood we will find the Kirin 9000, the same processor as the Huawei Mate 40 Pro.
The photographic equipment will be made up of four cameras: a main 50 Mpx sensor, a 16 Mpx sensor, another 12 Mpx and the fourth 8 Mpx, with a 10x zoom. The selfie camera will have a 16 Mpx sensor. It will have a 4,400 mAh battery and fast charging at 66 W.
At the moment, except for the design of the screen with the folding inwards, there is nothing confirmed, so we will have to wait until February 22 to know all the details of the Huawei Mate X2.
