Huawei has announced the date of presentation of its next great mobile, the Huawei Mate 40. Or rather in the plural, as it is expected that several will make up this series. Apart from the features that they may or may not bring, these phones are going to be special for an extra reason: they will be the last (at least for a while) to bring Huawei’s own designed Kirin chip.
As announced by Huawei Mobile, on October 22 at 14:00 CEST the Mate 40 Series will be officially presented. These phones arrive as Huawei’s second batch of big launches this year, after we saw the Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro .
As it happened with the Mate 30, these new Huawei Mate 40 will surely focus on the photographic section as an improvement over the P40 models. Some leaks reveal a gigantic rear camera with four lenses. You also bet on the hole in the screen instead of a notch . Continuing with the screen, we see that it will have curved sides.
The last Kirin and without Google
As we saw in August of this year, Huawei was forced to stop manufacturing its own-designed Kirin processor that its high-end smartphones currently carry. This is due to sanctions from the United States and bans on other companies collaborating with Huawei for being on its blacklist. Consequently TSMC can no longer manufacture Kirin processors since last September 15. This has made the Huawei Mate 40 Series the last to mount the brand’s processor.
As expected, the Huawei Mate 40 Series will also come without Google services . We have already tried and seen what it is like to use a high-end Huawei mobile without Google. Although there is hope for Huawei yet, other manufacturers such as Intel already have a license to collaborate with Huawei . The next is expected to be Qualcomm and consequently we will have Snapdragon processors in future Huawei.
On October 22, many doubts and unknowns about these new high-end phones from Huawei will be cleared up. We’ll be alert.
