New Nokia 8000 4G and Nokia 6300 4G: there is life beyond iOS and Android and it is life with KaiOS

The last to land are models previously filtered and that respond to the names of Nokia 8000 4G and Nokia 6300 4G, remembering old times. Nokia continues to bring back phones from its past, from the days before iOS and Android landed, when the Finns dominated the market quite clearly.

We are not talking about phones with excessively popular operating systems, but neither can we refer to them as basic or ‘dumb’ phones, since both have KaiOS inside. An operating system for phones with more common use and that also allows you to install and uninstall apps with its own store. And with WhatsApp, by the way. Let’s see what both models offer us.

Two brothers very similar to each other

Nokia 6300 4G
Nokia 6300 4G

We are talking about two phones that look more like each other than it seems. For example, both have 320 x 240 pixel resolution screens, 2.8 inch QVGA screens for the Nokia 8000 4G and 2.4 inches for the Nokia 6300 4G. Inside, identical plus 1,500 mAh removable batteries for each phone.

The two share a processor and memory, with a Snapdragon 205 with Adreno 304 GPU running at 1.1GHz, and with 512MB for RAM and 4GB for internal storage . In addition, both phones feature an external microSD tray with up to 32GB of maximum space. As for rear cameras, some difference since the Nokia 8000 has 2 megapixels while the Nokia 6300 only has a VGA camera.

Another technical tie in connectivity because we are talking about two models with Dual SIM 4G in addition to WiFi 4, Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS, headphone jack, FM radio and microUSB port for charging and file transfer. Obviously, they also tie in operating system since both have KaiOS pre-installed.
