According to a foreign media GSMArena report, MediaTek has recently launched the Helio G88 and Helio G96 processors, which are the successors of Helio G85 and G95, respectively. They mainly have great upgrades in display effects, but only support 4G.
It is understood that the MediaTek Helio G96 has eight cores, including two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.05GHz, supports LPDDR4x and UFS 2.2, supports HyperEngine 2.0 Lite gaming technology, and also supports dual 4G.
In terms of display, Helio G96 supports a 120Hz refresh rate at FHD+ resolution, and is compatible with LCD and AMOLED panels. In addition, the processor also supports 108MP mobile phone lens.
The Helio G88 is a low-end version of the former, which is also eight-core, including two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.0GHz, supporting a 90Hz refresh rate at 1080p+ resolution and a 64MP lens. Helio G88 also supports dual 4G.
MediaTek Helio G96 and Helio G88 processors are positioned in the low-end and mid-end mobile phone markets, and mobile phone manufacturers are expected to launch smartphones equipped with these two processors in a few months.
