The Steam Game Festival returns to our computers with an explosion of titles in development, most of them independent, available to players. Many of them are being played live as part of a busy schedule of events that includes talks with the developers and a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with those responsible for what may be some of the indie bombings of the upcoming season.
But nevertheless, what logically arouses more expectation among the regulars of Steam is the possibility of trying demos of games still in development, snacks for PC (and often Mac and Linux) of what is to come and will be available in the future in Steam. Among the hundreds of demos that will be available in the next few days we have selected a few. Here is a sample of the best demos available to you at this Steam Game Festival: Fall Edition.
Gloomwood
An atmospheric infiltration adventure game set in a Victorian city marked by a terrible curse. Fantasy weapons, dark characters, first-rate setting for a game that consciously recalls the first polygonal classics of survival horror.
Fights In Tight Spaces
The aesthetics and mechanics of this game halfway between the garish and abstract look of ‘Superhot’ and the turn-based action development of ‘John Wick: Hex’ have us in love. Add to all this the idea of a deck of cards to collect and use strategically and we will be faced with the strangest and most original version of the mythical brutal fights in tight spaces of action movies.
Garden story
An RPG of exploration and adventure in the most classic ‘Zelda’ style that may not have anything revolutionary, but with its endearing story of a grape that has to protect its village from the monsters that attack it, it will provide a soft corner where you can remember more times calm and emotional for video games. A nostalgic dive where you can run a thousand banal errands for the neighborhood.
Superliminal
Another game in steam game festival isSuperliminal. Although it is already available in the console stores and in the Epic Store, ‘Superliminal’ does not arrive on Steam until November. Perhaps, if you are a user of the Valve platform, it is a good time to find out why this puzzle of warped perspectives, trompe l’oeils and methodical hallucinations that many have compared to ‘Portal’ is raising so much praise.
Partisans 1941
Set on the eastern front of World War II, this tactical stealth game puts you in command of a Red Army squad facing the German occupation . With a very lucid visual finish, ‘Partisans 1941’ will force you to use elements of the stage, fully customize your team and its members and act coordinating them all to end the invasion.
Lucifer Within Us
With a unique setting (you are a digital exorcist capable of seeing in different timelines) who has to solve a non-linear murder, this is a game that promises to be demanding with its detectives. There will be no mini-games or puzzles or clues, the player will have to use all the evidence at his disposal and do more than follow a simple mystery story to solve the case.
Gonner 2
Procedurally generated platforms for a sequel that rescues the colorful and surreal settings of Death’s lair, helping to drive a threatening presence from its home. With its non-linear level structure and roguelike airs , ‘Gonner 2’ could prove to be one of the most challenging and demanding platforms of the season .
Land of Screens
A point-and-click adventure with a friendly aesthetic and a highly humanistic theme. After a love breakup, the protagonist is determined to embark on an almost impossible mission: to make all the people around her separate from the screens . A graphic adventure with a message about the addictions of modern life.
Party Animals
The shadow of ‘ Fall Guys ‘ is very long, and reaches this game in which instead of surreal colored beans we have cute furry animals facing each other in a ruthless combat without blood. Multiple online and local tests for what it claims to be the next millionaire party game .
Strobophagia
If raves and techno seem like places conceived in hell, wait to try this game that injects survival horror mechanics into fluorescent modern environments . Trying to escape from a rave that wants to claim the lives of all the attendees, you will have to solve puzzles thanks to a mechanic based on the mobile phone worn by the hero and the dialogues he has with other ill-fated house lovers .
Chinatown Detective Agency
The cybernoir is more fashionable than ever, and this point-and-click adventure with suggestive mechanics proposes to use the real world to gather clues that allow solving the crimes of the future to which the player is doomed. The fictional world of the year 2032 is too small for this game in which you will have to investigate online or explore authentic sites to advance in a game inspired, according to its authors, by the ‘Carmen Sandiego’ franchise.
