Mercenaries Mode in Resident Evil 8
The director of RE8, Morimasa Sato, has taken advantage of this special event to unveil one of the extra game modes of his long-awaited survival horror. Mercenaries mode is back with interesting news that seek to take advantage of the new horror experience that the game offers. “This is a very beloved minigame in the Resident Evil series,” said the Japanese creative, who has detailed some of his new additions.
Mercenaries is a much loved mode in the Resident Evil seriesMorimasa Sato
The central idea of Mercenaries is to take down all the enemies in a time limit with a game style reminiscent of the arcade, rather than a horror adventure. To achieve this objective we have Ethan Winters’ arsenal of weapons, but also special powers that allow us to customize the game, adjusting the action to our way of playing. In The Duke’s store we can buy weapons, equipment and improvements for our pistols, shotguns and more. We will progressively have more options to update the equipment, improving the shooting power, or the range of action of a weapon.
In terms of skills, Capcom has shown some of these advantages such as greater speed, greater damage with firearms, better defense, or the option of crushing enemies with blows. “It is full of surprises and there are special rewards,” concludes the creative.
