Nintendo has registered a new Nintendo Switch controller with federal agencies in the United States. The registration nomenclature – serial number ‘HAC-043’ – corresponds to that used by Nintendo for its hybrid console peripherals, from accessories such as the Ring Con from Ring Fit Adventure to reissues of classic controllers such as the SNES Controller .
First discovered by Twitter user, this record does not include information that allows us to discern the nature of this accessory , other than that it will use a Bluetooth connection. In fact, Nintendo has asked the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to keep all documentation and product specifications hidden for a period of 180 days .
Based on this, it seems that Nintendo would announce this new Nintendo Switch controller before or during March 2022 , just at the end of the fiscal year, coinciding with the 180 days requested by the company. While the controller itself remains a mystery, fans speculate that it would be a Nintendo 64 controller for Nintendo Switch, given that its serial number (HAC-043) is just next to the SNES Controller on the console. (HAC-042).
A few weeks ago, some sources claimed that Big N plans to add Game Boy games to the Nintendo Switch Online catalog . A piece of news in which they added that the company is also considering other retro platforms for the service. The serial number of this remote should not be taken as a confirmation of anything regarding the virtual console, but we will be very attentive to what they can announce about it in the coming months.
On the other hand, we remind you that Nintendo Switch has lowered its official price in Europe , although not in North America, and that the console has been updated this week with support for Bluetooth headphones and speakers , among other novelties.
