New Pokémon Snap: Locations of all legendary Pokémon

We’ll show you the locations and requirements to track down the particularly well-hidden, legendary Pokémon in New Pokémon Snap.

In New Pokémon Snap you can take photos of more than 200 different Pokémon. It makes sense that some of these monsters are very well hidden, especially the Legendary Pokémon. You can read about Pokémon myths in this article.

You will encounter the majestic  Xerneas in the course of the main story, but all other Legendary Pokémon are not that easy to track down. We’ll show you where to get the coveted creatures in front of the lens.

Legendary Pokémon: Find Shaymin

Location: Floreo Nature Park, Floreo Lumina Zone

Prerequisite: complete the main story or receive Floreo-Lumina balls

There are two ways to get the rare Shaymin in front of the lens. After completing the plot, you will meet the shy Pokémon at the end of the route in the Floreo Nature Park.

Alternatively, you can discover the Pokémon much earlier: Throw a Floreo Lumina ball into a certain bush in the Floreo Lumina zone: You can see the exact location in the video.

Legendary Pokémon: Find Mew

Location: jungle (night)

Prerequisite: end the main story

At the beginning of the route, attract the glowing ball by turning around and playing the melody. Throw apples at the ball to get Mew out. This way you can lure Mew to the ruins. You can then find Mew on the daily route.

Location: forest

Prerequisite: end the main story

Celebi meets you at the end of the changing forest. If you throw lumina balls at it, you can lure it all the way to the ancient ruins. There it calls out more Celebi for a 4-star photo.

Location: reef (evening)

Prerequisite: end the main story

Throw a lumina ball at the little Lapras at the end of the route. Once Lapras starts singing, play the tune to lure Manaphy out.

Legendary Pokémon: Find Lugia

Location: seabed

Prerequisite: end the main story

At the beginning of the route, choose the left route through the cave. Throw a lumina ball at the lanturn. Free the Pokémon by throwing it again after it is caught by two Quabbel. Then Lanturn leads you to Lugia. To wake it up, you have to activate the crystal flowers in front of and behind Lugia.

Location: volcano

Prerequisite: end the main story

Keep an eye on the sky as Ho-Oh will randomly fly by before you reach the cave. If you manage to take a photo, three feathers will appear in the right path of the cave. Throw Lumina balls at them to shoot a 4-star picture of Ho-Oh at the end of the route.

Location: snow field (night)

Prerequisite:  finish the main story, discover both secret paths in the snowfield

In the snow field (night) a Rossana stands on a floating Arktilas. Light up the night sky by throwing a lumina ball at it. Suicine appears as a reward. You can see the exact process in the video.

Location: cave

Requirement: Research level 3 in the remote cave

Choose the right path, into the crystal cave. Look down to see two Rocara and a Flunkifer. Lure Diancie out by throwing Lumina balls at the three Pokémon.

Legendary Pokémon: Find Jirachi

Location: ruins

Prerequisite: end the main story

Jirachi is very easy to find. At the beginning of the ruins route, it flies directly towards you. You can meet it a second time later in the ruins. It’s sitting there on the pillar in the purple basin.
