Many Apple fans were hoping to marvel at the new iPad Pro 2021 as early as March. But nothing will come of it now, Apple is planning a different release date and has another surprise ready.

There will probably be an Apple keynote in April – a star guest: the new iPad Pro. However, we cannot expect the AirPods 3 to appear, which will probably not come until autumn.

Waiting for the iPad Pro 2021 is definitely worth it, because, according to Gurman, Apple wants to surprise with a previously unexpected feature. The new iPad Pro is said to have Thunderbolt for the first time, not just USB-C. The advantages are obvious, because with Thunderbolt, even more external monitors, hard drives and peripheral devices can be used in the end, and the speed of data synchronization increases. Mac users have known the technology for years, but it would be a first for the iPad Pro.
What else do we know about the upcoming tablet update at Apple? We briefly summarize the current status of the insider reports:
- The design does not contain any big surprises and probably corresponds to the current state of affairs as far as possible.
- It remains with 11 and 12.9 inch displays.
- The 12.9-inch display alone is improved – more brightness and contrast, thanks to the use of mini-LEDs.
- Apple’s A14X is expected as the processor, which should be on par with the M1 chip in the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac mini.
- We also expect improvements in the cameras of the iPad Pro.
iPad Pro and MacBook in comparison: no longer a question of performance
In short: M1-level performance, Thunderbolt and much more… Apple’s new iPad Pro 2021 lives up to its name more than ever before. So there is practically no difference in performance compared to the Mac. The operating principle and the operating system alone then decide when choosing the machine. Differences in price? Even now irrelevant for the 12.9-inch model compared to the MacBook. So it remains rather expensive.
