PlayStation VR2 Final Design
The design of their new virtual reality glasses, they explain from Sony, has a shape similar to that of the PS VR2 Sense controls (shaped like an orb). According to the Japanese firm, “it represents the 360-degree vision that players feel when they enter the world of virtual reality.”
The glasses share the aesthetics of the rest of the products in the PS5 family, although for the virtual reality glasses Sony has opted to give the device a little more roundness, since it is designed to be in constant contact with us. As stated by Sony:
“Our goal is to create a helmet that not only becomes an attractive part of your living room décor, but also keeps you immersed in the game world, to the point where you almost forget you’re wearing a helmet or a command”.
The goggles incorporate an adjustable visor and retain the location of the headphone jack, but are slightly lighter in weight and have been updated with a lens adjustment dial and a new feedback motor. In addition, a new ventilation grille has been implemented between the top and front surfaces of the viewfinder to prevent fogging of the lens.
Last but not least, VR headsets also feature the little PlayStation symbols found on console casings and controllers. These are available on the front and rear bands of the headphones.
At the moment, there is no official release date or price, so we will have to wait. What we do know is that they will have an OLED screen with 2,000 x 2,040 pixels per eye, HDR support and up to 120 FPS. They will be connected to the console with a single cable and will have an eye tracking system..
