We are going to explain how to use WhatsApp on your PC or browser without having your mobile always connected, a new WhatsApp functionality that has begun to reach all users. It is something that has been implemented directly in WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop, so you do not have to do anything specific beyond proceeding to connect as we are going to explain.
Until now, if you wanted to use WhatsApp in your browser or on your desktop client, you always had to have your mobile next to you and connected to the Internet. Now this is no longer necessary, or at least not so much, something that gives you a little more flexibility. In addition, you can also use WhatsApp on four linked devices and one phone at the same time, being able to have it linked to four computers, tablets or laptops.
What exactly changes
What changes is that it is no longer necessary that your mobile is always connected to the Internet so that you can use the desktop and browser versions of WhatsApp. If you are connecting to WhatsApp from a computer but your mobile has coverage problems or for any reason you need to turn it off or remove the connection, this will no longer mean that WhatsApp is instantly cut off in the browser or computer.
With this function, you will be able to access the basic functions of WhatsApp, from sending messages to making calls and video calls with your mobile in airplane mode or off. For this, you will need to have WhatsApp updated to the latest version on your mobile, and also on the web and computer versions.
In addition, you will be able to use WhatsApp on four linked devices and one phone at the same time. This means that at the moment you will not be able to use it on more than one phone at the same time, but you will be able to have the session started on tablets, computers and laptops and use it there, up to four at the same time.
How to link your devicesLinked Android
To link your devices, you have to open WhatsApp on your desktop through the application for computers or its web version. Once in it, go to the mobile. On Android, click on the options button with the three-dot icon at the top right and choose the Paired devices option that will appear.
If you have WhatsApp on iOS, then the process to link it to browsers or computer is different. In this case, you have to press the option Linked devices within the Settings tab that you will have at the bottom right of the application.
You will enter the Linked Devices screen. In it, you will be able to see a list of all the devices in which you have linked WhatsApp from your mobile. To link another one through the desktop application or browser, on this mobile screen, click on the Link a device button that will appear above the list.
It will take you to a screen where the mobile camera opens and a box appears in the center. What you have to do is point the camera at the QR of the WhatsApp desktop or web application, and then the link between computer and mobile will be made.
