PC system requirements for Far Cry 6

Ubisoft has published the system requirements for Far Cry 6, which is due to be released on October 7th this year. Ubisoft again specifies which hardware is required for which resolution, how many images per second and with activated or deactivated ray tracing.

37 GB for HD textures

The game always requires at least 60 gigabytes of free space on the hard drive. Another 37 gigabytes are required for optional HD textures.

In Full HD with 30 FPS without ray tracing, Far Cry 6, for example, requires at least an AMD Ryzen 3 1200 or Intel Core i5-4460 in connection with an AMD Radeon RX 460 with 4 GB or Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 with 4 GB. Ubisoft specifies 8 gigabytes of RAM.

Ray tracing increases requirements significantly

For WQHD (1440p) with 60 FPS and ray tracing, however, the developer specifies at least an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X or Intel Core i5-10600 and an AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT with 16 GB or Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 with 8 GB. The required RAM of the system doubles to 16 gigabytes. Without ray tracing, however, an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X or Intel Core i7-9700 with an AMD Radeon RX 5700XT with 8 GB or Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super with 8 GB are sufficient for this resolution and 60 frames per second.

Ubisoft mentions a maximum of 30 FPS for UHD

If you want to play Far Cry 6 in Ultra HD with 30 frames per second and then also want to activate ray tracing, you need at least an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X or Intel Core i7-10700k with an AMD Radeon RX 6800 with 16 GB or Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 10 GB. However, even the fastest graphics cards from AMD and Nvidia, the Radeon RX 6900 XT and the GeForce RTX 3090, do not seem to achieve the refresh rate of 60 FPS, because Ubisoft does not name any higher setting than UHD with 30 FPS.
