Amazon rolls out New World combat trailer

Amazon Game Studios has unrolled a combat trailer for brand spanking new World, the upcoming MMORPG that’s set to launch in closed beta in July before its planned August release.

The combat trailer, which was featured within the PC Gaming Show, showcased a number of the weapons, skills, and spells that New World players are going to be ready to wield, also as a number of the opponents that they’ll face — from fellow humans to gruesome monsters.

The massive floating skull with lasers shooting from its eyes that appears at the top of the trailer seems like a formidable opponent, to mention the smallest amount, and would likely bring a fun boss fight.

Closed beta

Along with the discharge of the combat trailer, Amazon Game Studios also announced that the New World closed beta will launch on July 23 and be accessible to players who have pre-ordered the sport and people who are already a part of the closed trial. Sign-ups also will be opened for those that haven’t pre-ordered, with participants from this group randomly selected.

Amazon Game Studios said that there are “many improvements and changes” between the game’s closed alpha and closed beta. The New World closed beta currently has without stopping date, but it’ll close before the MMO’s planned launch date on August 25.

“The big thing we would like to ascertain is how the sport holds up at scale,” David Verfaillie, New World’s head of player experience, told VentureBeat. “We want to understand how the servers delay, how lag-free the play are going to be, and if the frame rate is sweet. We’re getting to get tons of data about how it plays.” New World will follow Crucible, a team-based multiplayer shooter that launched in May as Amazon’s first computer game.
