The triple entente of gaming in relation to mobiles has already completed its 2021 showcase. After the ASUS ROG Phone 5 and the Nubia RedMagic 6 l, the Black Shark 4 and 4 Pro are now arriving, which also arrive with their particular aesthetics and improving the specifications of its predecessors.
Thus, as we saw last year, it is a duo formed by a base model, successor to the Black Shark 3, and a Pro model, inheriting the witness from the Black Shark 3 Pro. And among the improvements this time we do see the jump in the refresh rate that was already becoming a necessity when competing: 144 hertz.

Gaming aesthetics something more delicatessen
In the new Black Shark, the type of mobile phone is still identified by the league by appearance, but it is a less aggressive aesthetic than the one we saw last year, especially in the black version (without details on the back) of the Pro and in the standard black and silver colors.
They are practically twin mobiles in most aspects and the design is one of them, seeing that the camera module is now more discreet and horizontal. What it does maintain are the physical triggers, which by hiding automatically manage to remain discreet.
On the screen we see the traditional design that is the most convenient for games, since this way the surface is better used and there are no elements that can disturb or hide elements of the interfaces. The interesting thing is that in both models we see the maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz, with which they are face to face with their most direct rivals.
Of course, in Black Shark they have not taken the opportunity to compete in terms of resolution and they are left with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. In addition, the touch frequency of up to 720 Hz and the maximum brightness of 1,300 nits, figures well above the average.
The differences inside
Part of the differences between one and the other are in the processor. In the case of the Black Shark 4 Pro we see the Snapdragon 888, Qualcomm’s most powerful to date, and in the case of the Black Shark 4 it is the Snapdragon 870, a somewhat shorter version but which also falls within the high range of Qualcomm.
The base Black Shark 4 also has one more RAM option, in total offering 6, 8 or 12 GB. The Black Shark 4 Pro starts at 6 GB, although what stands out here in both cases is that they cannot compete with the maximums of 16 GB and 18 GB that the competition has reached.
The memories are LPDDR5 talking about RAM and 3.1 in terms of storage, seeing that in the base model there is an option of 128 GB and that in both cases you can opt for 256 GB. In the battery we do see a level playing field, with a 4,500 mAh battery. What stands out here is the fast charge of up to 120 W, which for now we had only seen in its distant cousin the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra.
Both mobiles have NFC, dual GPS, audio minijack and linear vibration motor. In addition, they integrate a liquid cooling system, something to highlight in the case of mobiles that will be hours and hours at full capacity.
NFC, a 64MP camera (8MP wide angle and 5MP macro) and a 20MP selfie.
As for photography, we see that the last of the differences is in the main camera. We found a 48-megapixel sensor for the Black Shark 4 and a 64-megapixel sensor for the Pro, in both cases with a lens with aperture f / 1.79.
In the rest of the cameras, there is a technical tie, with a wide-angle lens with f / 2.2 aperture and an 8-megapixel sensor and the macro camera, with a 5-megapixel sensor and a lens with f / 2.4 aperture. For its part, the front camera has a 20 megapixel sensor and lens with f / 2.0 aperture.
