As expected, Samsung has presented in the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the Galaxy Unpacked that is taking place right now, a flexible smartphone that had already been leaked on numerous occasions, both in terms of design and specifications, and that for we knew so much already. In the end, almost all the information we had previously given you has been confirmed, so there are no major surprises. We already have seen the review of Samsung Galaxy Z fold 2 already.
At the design level, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 maintains the book-like approach, with a flexible interior screen and a vertical fold that allows us to open and close the screen effortlessly. When open, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 allows us to use a 7.6-inch internal screen (Infinity Flex Display) with a resolution of 2,208 x 1,768 pixels, a format similar to what we would have with a small tablet. When it is closed, we find an external screen that has a size of 6.2 inches (Super AMOLED) and that offers a resolution of 2,260 x 832 pixels.
We did not find any major novelty in terms of design. The Galaxy Z Fold3 is a markedly continuous terminal in this sense, but this does not mean that Samsung has not dared to introduce important innovations, they are simply limited to the technical level. Thus, one of the most important novelties is found in the inner camera, which is integrated into the screen, which achieves a much cleaner and more attractive format that goes perfectly with very contained edges.
The Galaxy Z Fold3 is therefore the first Samsung smartphone with an in-screen camera. Said camera is 4 MP and uses quite large pixels (2.0µm in size). It is designed, mainly, to make video calls. If we want to take selfies (selfies) we can resort to the 10 MP camera that integrates the smaller external screen. And speaking of the outer screen, it is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, while the inner screen should use ultra-thin flexible glass, the same protection system that we find in the Galaxy Z Fold2.
The hinge maintains the design of the previous generation model, and according to Samsung it has passed numerous resistance tests. At the rear, we see a configuration of three cameras arranged on a vertical island. As expected, the Galaxy Z Fold3 is built in aluminum, and also uses a Gorilla Glass Victus glass layer on the back, which gives it a distinctly premium touch.

The Galaxy Z Fold3 is IPX8 certified, which means that it is waterproof, and also offers improved S-Pen support, in fact Samsung has made reference to a special model designed for this new smartphone, called the S-Pen Fold Edition., which lacks Bluetooth connectivity, but has a very light weight ( 6.7 grams ), which translates into a superior user experience.
Samsung has also notably improved integration at the software level, both in terms of performance and multitasking, something fundamental for a smartphone like the Galaxy Z Fold3, thus completing a terminal that, of course, is not limited to picking up the baton that He left the older generation, but dares to take it a little further.
Availability and price of the Galaxy Z Fold3
The Galaxy Z Fold3 will be available in three colors: Ghost Black, Ghost Green, and Ghost Silver. In its configuration with 256 GB of storage it will cost 1,809 dollars, while the version with 512 GB stands at 1,909 dollars.
The pre – purchase of this terminal is already available, but the first units will not begin to arrive until August 20, the date on which the pre-sale stage will close. From then on, all purchases made will be made directly.
On the official Samsung website, I have not seen any special promotion active for the purchase of this new smartphone, so pre- buying it does not carry any type of advantage beyond the fact that we will be among the first to receive it when the first units start to ship.
